Stop washing your vagina with lemon juice! Here’s why.
Ladies, feel free to add lemon slices in your water, leave the vagina alone!
I never thought I’d have to say this, but I must say it because it might save a life. Ladies, you should not wash your vaginas with lemon juice.
Using Lemon Juice won’t make your vagina tighter, it won’t make your vagina smell fresh and good, it won’t protect you from getting pregnant and finally, it won’t protect you from getting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
It’s a terrible idea to wash your vagina with lemon juice because it can cause serious harm. Lemon juice is highly acidic (it’s full of citric acid), which can damage the delicate lining of your vagina. This can lead to soreness, irritation, and pain when you have sex.
It can also disrupt the PH balance of your vagina and doing this can make you prone to vaginal infections such as thrush and bacterial vaginosis.
Bacterial vaginosis is an infection that can cause the vagina to have an unpleasant, fish-like smell.
So, what should I use to clean my vagina?
The vagina is self-cleaning. This means that the vagina is designed to keep itself clean with the help of natural secretions (discharge).
You shouldn’t wash your vagina (the canal), but it’s a good idea to wash your vulva or outer part
You should wash your vulva with warm water. If you’d like, you can use a mild soap that won’t irritate the skin — but this isn’t necessary.
Spread your lips (labia majora) apart and gently cleanse around the folds, using a clean washcloth or your hands. Do ensure that you prevent getting water or soap inside your vagina.
It is also important to wash the anus and the area between the anus and vagina every time you take a bath. Wash the vagina first then proceed to the anus to prevent bacteria from the anus spreading to your vulva and causing infections.
If you want to protect yourself from HIV, other STIs, and unintended pregnancy, use a condom correctly every time you have sex. Condoms are very effective at preventing pregnancy and other STIs when used correctly.
