How do I know the right condom size?

Penises come in different shapes and sizes meaning, no two penises are the same.

The same applies to condoms. There are condoms for larger penises, medium-sized penises, and small penises.

It is important to find the right condom that fits your size just as you would when buying a pair of shoes or clothes.

Finding a condom that fits well with your size will lead to more pleasurable sex and safe sex.

When used correctly, condoms are very effective in preventing HIV, other STIs, and unwanted pregnancy.

How do I know the condom is not a right fit for me?

A condom is considered not a right fit when:

The condom is too loose

If you feel your condom is too loose, then it is not the right fit. There is a risk that the condom might fall during sex putting you at the risk of getting an STI or pregnant.

The condom is too tight

If the condom is too tight, there is a risk that it might tear during sex, putting you at the risk of getting an STI or pregnant.

The condom is long

If the condom is too long, it will make you feel uncomfortable and ruin the moment. There is also a risk of the condom being rendered ineffective since it can tear during sex. This will put you at the risk of getting an STI or pregnant.

The condom is too short

If the condom is too short, the condom can tear putting you at the risk of getting an STI or pregnant

So, how do I find the right condom size?

First thing first, you need to measure the length and circumference (girth) of your penis. You can do this using a ruler or a tape measure.

Once you have measured your size length and girth, you can then look out for the size that fits you best. Most condom companies will indicate the nominal width and this should guide you if it’s the right size. Check the back of the pack to get this information.

Most condoms will also come in small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes. Often, small and large, and extra-large sizes are labeled while the medium, also known as standard size, is not.

Small condoms range from on average 7 to 7.8 inches in length and less than 1.75 in girth and are best fit for erect penises that are shorter than 4.7– 6.3 inches in length and a girth of 3 – 4.5 inches in girth.

Medium (standard) from on average 7.25 to 7.8 inches long with a width of 1.7 – 2.0 inches and are best fit for erect penises measuring 4.7 – 6.3 inches in length and 4.7 inches in girth.

The large sizes range from on average 7.25 to 8.5 inches is the best fit for erect penises of above-average length and girth.

Note: These are averages thus your penis will not necessarily fall under these ranges. The best thing to pick is the nearest size to your erect penis.

If you like, you can try using a condom size calculator to help you determine which condom size is best for you. You can find the condom size calculator online. Like this one.

Now that you now know your size and the condom that fits you well, it is important to be on the lookout when buying a condom. Look at the condom box to find the length and circumference of the condom that fits you well.
