Why you shouldn’t take alcohol through your butt
Rumor has it that some of you are consuming alcohol through your rectum and vagina! While we are always encouraging you to be adventurous when it comes to your rectum and vagina, there are limits. Not everything belongs in these canals and alcohol is one of them. Here’s why:
The practice of consuming alcohol through the rectum is popularly known as alcohol enemas or butt-chugging.
People do it for various reasons including:
- Sexual arousal (also known as klismaphilia)
- To get drunk fast
- Avoid the smell of alcohol in their breath
- Avoid a hangover –
- Avoid throwing up –Note that throwing up is a good thing because it is your body’s way of getting rid of excess alcohol
- Seeking thrill or trying to be adventurous
Whatever your motivation is, this practice is dangerous and carries risks.
I will not go into details about how it’s done so you don’t use it as a manual. It makes sense to focus on the dangers.
The dangers of alcohol enema
First, your body was designed to work in a very particular way; your creativity in helping it work is not needed unless you are a qualified healthcare provider.
- First, this practice carries the risk of an STI and other infections if the equipment used during the process is shared
- Taking alcohol through your rectum means the body system is not able to regulate the concentration of the alcohol before being absorbed in the body. This can easily lead to alcohol poisoning. This is because the alcohol will not have gone through the normal path of breaking down and processing before circulating in the system.
- Next, your rectum does not have the necessary enzymes to break down the alcohol and this can lead to a much higher blood alcohol concentration compared to if you were drinking it through the mouth.
- Also, some alcoholic drinks can be acidic, and seeing that the walls of the vagina and rectum are very thin and sensitive, you will likely feel irritation, inflammation, and a burning sensation. Your walls will be damaged.
- Finally, this practice can allow the consumption of excess amounts of alcohol which may lead to alcohol poisoning
The cons of alcohol enema or butt-chugging far outweigh the pros. Your health is at risk thus if you have to consume alcohol, do it how it was designed to be taken.
Remember to always drink responsibly and only through your mouth.
