Introduction
Africa Media Trust (AMT) is pleased to invite qualified organizations, companies, or individuals to submit bids for designing, developing, and deploying an innovative AI-driven chatbot platform. This chatbot will support adolescents and young people in Kenya by enhancing their access to accurate and engaging information and services on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
The envisioned chatbot will serve as a collaborative platform that integrates interventions by various digital media implementers, consolidating Kenya’s fragmented SRHR digital health landscape into a unified solution. The initiative aligns with our mission to promote Universal Health Coverage and SRHR for young people.
Project Objective
The goal of the chatbot project is to address the confusion and overwhelm caused by a growing number of diverse digital solutions within Kenya’s SRHR landscape. By integrating these resources into a single, reliable digital platform, the chatbot will:
– Provide accurate, interactive, and youth-friendly SRHR information.
– Enhance navigation of SRHR services through an integrated service finder.
– Offer engaging, educational features, such as interactive games.
-This platform will empower young people to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
Scope of Work
The selected vendor will be responsible for:
1. Designing and Developing the Chatbot Platform
– Creating a user-friendly interface with AI-driven interactive capabilities.
– Developing engaging features such as interactive games and quizzes.
– Building a service finder tool that connects users to verified SRHR services.
2. Training the AI Models
– Ensuring the chatbot provides accurate, context-sensitive responses in alignment with SRHR content guidelines.
– Leveraging machine learning techniques to enhance chatbot adaptability and personalization.
3. Testing and Debugging
– Conducting comprehensive testing to ensure the chatbot is user-friendly, reliable, and free from technical issues.
– Iteratively addressing feedback and resolving bugs.
4. Deployment
– Integrating the chatbot across identified platforms, such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and the web.
– Providing technical support post-deployment for a defined period.
Eligibility Requirements
Bidders must meet the following criteria:
– Proven experience designing and deploying AI-driven chatbots, particularly for youth or health-focused initiatives.
– Technical capacity and expertise in AI training, UX/UI design, and digital platform development.
– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
-A strong understanding of SRHR education and service access, especially in the Kenyan context is desirable
Submission Guidelines
Interested bidders are required to submit the following:
1. Technical Proposal
– A detailed description of the approach and methodology for chatbot development.
– Proposed timeline for project implementation.
– Team composition, including relevant expertise and roles. Attach their resumes
2. Financial Proposal
– A detailed cost breakdown covering all stages of development, including post-deployment support.
3. Portfolio
– Examples of 3 similar projects completed, including links to previous chatbot solutions (if available).
– At least three references from prior clients.
4. Compliance Documents
– Certificate of incorporation (for companies).
– Tax compliance certificate.
– Any other relevant statutory documents.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
– Technical expertise and relevance of past projects (40%).
– Quality and feasibility of the proposed approach (30%).
– Cost-effectiveness (20%).
– Compliance with submission requirements (10%).
